Dating is always difficult, but the pandemic makes it impossible. Sure, apps have made it easier to find people since you’re not able to go to a bar, party, class or any in-person interaction, but how do you let the romance linger? There’s no fun opportunities for dates and you only so much can be done online.

Well, Uber is in a similar position. The ride sharing company has been trying to find its match for quite some time during this pandemic and it hasn’t been working out. Things were working out with GrubHub for quite some time, until the European JustEatTakeaway, swept the food delivery company off its feet and ghosted them. Now, Uber is going after Postmates in its quest to find the best partner to take on the world and scream that the combined food delivery company will be the best in the world.

Unfortunately, like the main female character living in a major city trying to find love, things are bound to go wrong when what seems like the perfect match is going to be found. Postmates has options its considering other than merging like going public itself or forming a special purpose acquisition company, otherwise known as what the cool kids call a SPAC.

Will Postmates be bold enough to realize that they don’t need a partner to be happy? Will Uber ever find the “one”? Looks like we’ll just have to keep waiting on this thrilling adventure.
