Don’t You Wish Jeff Bezos Left While Being The Richest Person in the World?

There’s nothing like witnessing one of the all-time greats leaving at the top of their games. There’s no regrets and fans of that person don’t have a sour taste in their mouth while watching their favorite walk off. There’s a difference between how Derek Jeter left baseball and how Mickey Mantle did it to say the least.

To say Jeff Bezos is at the top of his profession is like saying LeBron James is one of the best players in the NBA. It’s not a debate. We all know it because we see how obvious it is. However, when someone performed like Bezos has with Amazon over the last two decades, we’d like to see them be number one. Unfortunately, due to the bloated stock price and the rise of pajama traders, Elon Musk is the richest person in the world. He did not create a product that is used by so many like Bezos has. He has not created a service that has boosted so many people’s lives. Musk just owns a company with a ton of hype and loyal followers. Bezos is certainly a more impactful leader than Musk and we know his company makes a whole lot more money than him too. After everything we’ve seen Bezos accomplish, it feels weird and it’s disappointing to see him not walk off as number one.

Luckily, this isn’t the end for Bezos and Amazon. He will still reside as an Executive Chairman as Andy Jassy takes over the reigns. Bezos will still be creating and having an important role at Amazon, he just won’t be holding the same day-to-day duties. For the man who innovated the way we shop online, read books and listen to music, he should be able to step back while on top. Hopefully, we’ll see him back on top where he rightfully belongs soon.
